Ash, Where Have you Been?

It’s a Christmas Miracle! Im Back!

I mentioned in my previous post that school has been so busy and oh my gosh did it ramp up.

Ive just finished my first semester working in my major happy dances and it was so hard but it was so great and I’m so excited for this coming semester!

There have been so many sleepless nights and let me tell you, sleep deprivation is a real thing and it sucks. Honestly the semester took me by surprise. I know, that sounds crazy, I’m in college how did I not expect to be strung out and tired. It’s not really like thats what I Was thinking, I just think I started off with a lot on my plate and didn’t realize how difficult it would be to keep it all together as the work became more intense. Trust me it’s been crazy enough jumping into my first semester in Fashion Design, learning how rigorous the classes all are and getting a feel for the major as a whole, but then also having a minor, so doing an extra studio. Yup, that meant lots of ten hour class days. that on top of homework and work… I think you get the picture. But I had fun with every second of it. Im so thankful that I have the opportunity to learn and work in something that has interested me my whole life. All that being said I am happy the semester is over so I can rest up.

I have had a couple days to sleep all that off and am SO ready to start posting again!

I’ve got a whole lot to fill you guys in on. Ive gotten the chance to learn so many new things, get back to reading more and Ive even gotten the chance to spend the day in New York for the first time and got to visit Mood Fabrics!

Boston Fashion Week+OOTD

Fashion

Hi everyone! Ive got some exciting news! I a currently interning for VOGEFashionRunway for Boston Fashion Week! I just wanna give a huge thank you to my friends Julia and Nadia who had invited me to help them out with the show. Also, Julia has an awesome Fashion blog as well calles callmejulessite so everyone reading should defiantly check her out!

On Sunday I attended a meeting to learn my jobs for the day of the show.  Me and all my other friends got super cute, as seen below, and headed down to the W Hotel where the show will be hosted on Saturday, October 7th. See all the show details in their Facebook here.

Ya’ll can catch ya girl in the model room and makeup and hair. I had a great few hours meeting everyone and getting to work closely with designers and models. The designer that I was assigned to was awesome and you guys can check out her great work on instagram here.

What I wore:

Honestly this is really a show of how much I appreciate Marshalls and TJMaxx because Everything I wore that way and from one of these stores. Ive been shopping and Marshall’s and TJMaxx more often lately not only because they are easily accessible and Afforsable for me and my college kid pennies, but they are also pretty ethical. Many times Marshalls and TJ Maxx will pick up smaller American made brands and I can really appreciate that.

I  tried to keep my outfit simple and pretty comfortable (minus the heels but they were cute so Kanye shrug).

My top is this Doe and Rae, black and white stripped top with a chiffon-ish overlay. It is also slightly off the shoulder so it makes it a little bit more fun.

Next I wore my favorite navy slacks. These are Ellane Rose and they were so comfortable. They’ve got a good amount to strength so they kind of fit like a legging but the fabric feels sturdy like real pants and the bottom isn’t as tight.

And finally I have my shoes, which are Nine West. They are a absolutely adorable pair of baby pink suede and paisley printed chunky heels. I think these are great and easy to dress up of down because of how thick the heel is. These were by far my favorite part of my outfit even though by the end of the day after running around Boston I couldn’t wait to fling them across the room.

Check back soon to hear about my experiences backstage, see pictures, and learn more about the designers!
